Just got word that TechConnect have snagged Windows XP Service Pack 2 Build 1224!

Update: Just a quick update! TechConnect Windows XP Service Pack 2 Build 1224 is in fact Build 1213.

Well here it is, the latest Service Pack 2 for Windows XP. This file is 152MB, so dont hardlink to the downloads please!

is this a new update? i heard that sp2 was just all of the sp1 hotfixes?

it cant hurt to apply the patch anyway, i guess. hah

The link takes me to a page that says that the build is 'definitely 1213'....not 1224. ???

And this page has an Update note: It seems to be fake.

dude 1213 sp2 has been out for mounths and mounths
the fact the 1224 was fake again determaned several mouths ago?

some people liveing in the dark ages here i've been running 1213 for some time....

it was leaked in FEBURARY of this year!!!!!!! (1213)

I gonna doload just to take a closer look to see if it really is a fake

Edit: yuep just a renamed copy of the 1213_xpsp2.xBetas release

i installed it, and got a (for testing purposes only) text on the bottom right hand, so this is indeed a beta update.

you get them with all the betas.

there is a patch somewhere in a forum that removes the code for that but no idea in which thread it's in very long time ago when i seen it.

cant you do the same with tweak ui? i cant remember, but i uninstalled sp2, and now i have (for testing purposes) on sp1, ehh, i dont mind it for now..

right click your desktop! propertys,desktop tab , then customize desktop, web tab, check lock desktop items, then click ok , then apply then it's gone

there is another d/l at tech connect supposed to be genuine this time but the d/l was that slow i stopped it,it is not up at the moment

For those who quickly wants to load recommend www.oranges.ru (to find: " windows xp service pack 2 "), SP1224 for 22,5 minutes. It is established on XPSP1. on mine SP2 (1204) it does not want to be established (the swine!)

nothing new there, they probably found bugs in the service pack updates.

It is good that uncle Bill will present us SP2 in December... (but only what year?)
Mistakes in preliminary version SP2 probably are, but I think them will be much less, than already is in OS.
Certainly if reinstallation of operational system is connected to difficulties then it is better to not experiment.
One I can tell that SP2 (1204) works well (Home comp - P4 2,8 ( 3,24 ) Asus P4C800 Radeon 9700Pro, Audigy2
and work comp - P4 2,53 Gigabyte 8PE667U,Radeon 8500Le), even the parameter in 3DMARK2003 has increased.
SP2 (1224) yet did not try.
