Asustek Computer shipped 2.56 million motherboards worldwide in August, on par with its July shipments, according to sources. Its global sales for August reached NT$19.555 billion.
The company’s notebook and graphics card shipments both fell below July’s figures, at 150,000-200,000 and 430,000 respectively, while its game console and optical storage drive shipments rose.
Asustek’s accumulated motherboard shipments in the first eight months of this year were about 16.5 million units, while its notebook shipments in the same period were about 850,000-950,000 units.
Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) saw its revenues fall by 24.4% in August from the previous month. In motherboards, suffering from the low season in the US and European markets, its shipments fell by 7.6% to 1.3 million units and sales fell by 21% compared to July. The company’s motherboard ASP (average selling price) plunged by 22.5% month-on-month.
Micro-Star International (MSI) reported that its motherboard shipments in August reached 1.2 million, a 10% growth month-on-month, while its graphics cards shipments surpassed 600,000 units last month.
