Graphics Cards Makers Welcome NVIDIA GeForce FX 5900 SE?

Gainward and Leadtek recently unveiled their new graphics cards based on simplified and slower version of the GeForce FX 5900 technology aimed on price-conscious personal computer hardware enthusiasts. The graphics cards feature 2.8ns memory, cheaper compared to 2.2ns devices found on more expensive GeForce FX 5900 and 5900 Ultra graphics cards, but still utilize 400MHz GeForce FX GPUs, as far as we are aware.

Gainward recently unveiled its Gainward FX PowerPack! Model Ultra/1100 TV/DVI graphics card build using simplified PCB design and cheaper DDR SDRAM memory running at 700MHz. As 3DChips-fr web-site reports, Leadtek also now offers its A350LX TDH functioning at 400/700MHz for core and memory respectively.

Evidently, the new graphics cards are based on the GeForce FX 5900 SE or the GeForce FX 5900 Value designs provided by NVIDIA or developed by the add-in-board makers themselves. The solution still provides all the architectural advantages of the GeForce FX 5900 GPU and 256-bit memory bus, though, its performance should be slower compared to other products in the family.

Currently there is no information about pricing of the actual graphics cards powered by the new GeForce FX 5900 version, but, I believe that the GeForce FX 5900 SE or Value should not cost more than $300, nevertheless, at this point the A350LX TDH graphics cards from Leadtek cost 380 Euros in France. Note that price and performance of not expensive GeForce FX 5900 products may vary.
