Dell Latitude X300 and Inspiron 300m: new subnotebooks on 1.2GHz LV P4

Dell introduced two new subnotebooks: Latitude X300 and Inspiron 300m. Both are based on Intel Centrino with optional MediaBase station and D-Family module for devices like DVD+RW drives or the hard drives as well as external D/Bay providing USB2.0 connectivity for external devices.



Latitude X300 (<$1599) bases on 1.2GHz LV Pentium M, Intel 855GM chipset; features 12.1" XGA (1024x768) LCD display, PRO/Wireless 2100 (802.11b) interface, 20Gb (up to 60Gb) HDD, 128Mb (up to 1152Mb) DDR SDRAM PC2100, CD-ROM/DVD-ROM/CD-RW/DVD/CD-RW drive, IEEE1394 port, 2 x USBx2.0 ports, Type I/II slot, 10/100/1000 Ethernet LAN, 56K2 v.92 modem, built-in stereo speakers (with an external suybwoofer jack), Windows XP Pro SP1 / XP Home SP1 / 2000 SP3. Sized 274.3x233.7x20.3mm, it weighs about 1kg.

Inspiron 300m ($1599) bases on 1.2GHz LV Pentium M (Intel 855GM), 12.1" XGA (1024x768) LCD, PRO/Wireless 2100 (802.11b), 30Gb HDD, 256Mb DDR PC2100, DVD/CD-RW drive, a number of interfaces and ports, Windows XP Home SP1.
