Taiwan-based Wistron expects to ship 1.6 million Xbox game consoles in the second half of this year, with daily shipments estimated at around 10,000 units, according to sources.
Wistron declined to comment on the report.
Thanks to shipments of various new notebook models, the company’s notebook sales are also expected to grow in the second half of the year, sources said.
Wistron’s accumulated revenues for the first half of this year fell by 24.5% year-on-year to NT$29.696 billion, the company reported earlier. The declines were mostly caused by relatively small Xbox game console shipments and a transition period between products, but sales should pick up sharply in the second half, sources said.
This year the company targets generating NT$90.027 billion in revenues, with an expected gross margin of about 7.6%, according to the company.
