South Korea's largest mobile network provider is selling a new ring tone that is inaudible to humans but unbearable for mosquitoes.
The new ring tone costs £1.50 and is only available initially in South Korea. The tone sounds constantly and has a range of up to 3ft. SK Telecom claims that the tone has been highly effective in tests, according to Reuters.
The disadvantage for users is that setting the tone ringing drastically reduces a phone's battery life, reducing active times to four or five hours for most phones.
The rainy season has recently started in South Korea and malaria is a big problem in the north of the country.
