DivX is a package that includes all the DivX codec, player, utilities, and documentation that you need to play DivX files. DivX codec is based on the MPEG-4 compression standard. This codec can reduce an MPEG-2 video (DVD format) to ten percent of its original size. DivX is a digital video compression technology based on the ISO MPEG-4 standard.

WTF is this? I went to see what the file was called on the ad-supported version.

I see GAIN bundle? WTF? GAIN? Why the heck would they put out a GAIN version? Is this what I think it is? Gator? All that spyware that is everywhere? I already had the 5.05 version- WITHOUT GAIN! Go see for yourself- go to the page and click the ad-supported version- then when you go to download it, you see that the file name says "GAINBundle" Man, thank's for almost making me put a bunch of spyware on my PC.

Yep it's chopped full of craptastic gain. And check this, if you install that then run like a spyware remover and remove gator and the other crap in it your divx encoding stops workin! Be careful people! These divx people don't like to play nice!

5.0.5b only updates the divx player so no reason to get it if you don't use the player so just stick with the one you have.
