Google Toolbar version 2.0 beta, available on the
beta site at Google.com, is set to automatically block popups for users with Internet Explorer browsers version 5.5 or higher. Google's toolbar is a plug-in application that places a Google search box directly into a user's browser.
In addition to the popup browser, the beta's new highlighted features also include an "autofill" function that allows online forms to be filled in at the touch of a button, and a button to automatically create a blog link to the page a user is viewing, plus any highlighted text. The service works with blogger.com, according to the beta page.
However, Google said it will provide no technical support to Toolbar 2.0 beta users. The company did not indicate when the Toolbar 2.0 would complete its beta.
