Review: Which smart phone OS works best?
Considering a smart phone? Will it do what you want it to? We tested four major platforms to see which is best for specific tasks.

Re: Review: Which smart phone OS works best?
The reviewer got a little carried away and often compared the particular phones instead of their OSes. For example, in the E-mail category, the contestants were eventually ordered by keyboard quiality. The reviewer even stops talking about the operating systems and refers to the participatnts as "the Nokia", iPhone or HTC Touch Dual. Also, in the "Entertainment" category, where there is a subcategory called "Music playback quality", the writer delves upon which phone has a 3.5mm jack and best earphones, but says very little about the built in music players.
The choice of the categories was also dubious. There were only 4 of them, and one was photography, were the way to get top marks was to have a "send last photo now" icon constantly present on the screen. I somehow don't think that that is one of the 4 top priorities for a smartphone owner, unless we're talking about teenage (mutant) smartphone owners (though I think that they would prefer MMS to e-mail). Overall, I think that the author is completely off the mark.

Re: Review: Which smart phone OS works best?
I agree. My Samsung i780 is a Windows Mobile phone, but comes with Opera 8.65, so the browsing experience is different than it would be on IE. Considering the availability of 3rd party software like this, judging the OS on the basis of the bundled apps is a problem.
