Lotus Technology Adds Noise to Hybrid Cars

For someone who owns two Priuses, I can say that when running on battery, you can't hear it. For a blind person (which is where this is coming from), it's actually dangerous, as they can't hear the vehicles at all. NPR ran a report on this some time back.

in a number of places it's still not practical at all for it.

people will likely just cut the wires or remove it all,

and seriously a 300 watt speaker...... they'd like use it for something else.
