Americans not good enough for HP
CEO finds them incompetent
Chairman of HP, Mark Hurd, claims that Americans are getting too dumb to work for his company, and that it is impossible to find foreigners who want to work in the Land of the Free these days.

Come on. It's all about the bottom line and outsourcing, and keeping the stock price high so the CEO can get millions in bonuses. Who cares about jobs for Americans, or even sustainability.

you being sarcastic about the amount.. or consider that viable for anybody that isnt a teenager at home or living on the edge of poverty?
wont even get into benefits... wich is one of the reasons they like to outsource. lower wages, little or no benefits. whats not to like.
wouldnt be quite so bad if they passed the savings on to their customers.... lol.

thats what cracks me up about these companies taking their jobs elsewhere, but bitch because peeps in the us dont have enough money to buy their products.
& given the big probs our economy is having it is going to get worse for everyone concerned.

a little of both actually.
while i do not like the fact that minimum wage has increased for our overall economy as it causes inflation to occur at a faster rate. the increased minimum wage rate causes business to increase their product pricings in order to maintain the establishment's operations. This can be seen most prominently in fast food places, movie theatres, movie rental places such as block buster and hollywood video, etc.
i do understand that it is needed to be done because there are many families out there living on minimum wage and they cannot have their needs met. i see this quite often in my community and places i like to travel to here in the Los Angeles area. I even personally know people that litterally are living off of minimum wage, so i understand that it's a benefit to them by having that done.
but ugh...this discussion is for another thread as it will make this thread go OT, lol

What's funny is people demand high paying jobs but they want cheap products. You can't have both.

Haha. It's not jsut that. People want lots of stuff, but aren't willing to pay.
Examples:
a) Good public schools, but low taxes
b) bridges that don't fall down, but low or no gas taxes to pay for infrastructure
and on and on.

that's why we have democrats . they increase taxes and our public systems are in good to excelent order, IMO, but everybody starts whining about taxes being too high.
then, republicans come along, undo all the taxes the democrats put in place, and in effect, the public systems start to fall apart.
once the public is like, "oh crap, our schools suck and we have no cops patroling our streets" we elect a democrat and things start to come back together as they once were.
it's all a cycle really
again, this is just my opinion.
