7 Terabyte Hard Drives Compared

As terabyte capacity hard drives continue to roll out into the mainstream, we're doing our share to keep up with this exploding technology. Today, we're reviewing two more of these super-sized drives and will compare results with their fellow terabyte cousins.

The two drives we look at more closely today are old and new in the market space for terabyte hard drives. The Hitachi A7K1000 is built on the 7K1000 architecture, and represents one of the older families of terabyte drives. Hitachi uses five 200GB platters and ten heads in the A7K1000.
