proSilence 350 Watt Fanless PSU review @ Warp2Search.net

Firstly, I would like to thank SilentMaxx who provided us with the fanless PSU for testing.
In the first part of this review we will have a short look to this psu, after that you will find the detailed praxis test.

The proSilence 350 W arrived with an AC power cable and a 6-page manual. The manufacturer is Silent Systems GmbH, Rheinbach, Germany and the distributor is www.Silentmaxx.de.

At first sight, we recognized the massive heatsink on the case. The production quality is very fine - every part is screwed and user-serviceable. The case is 1-mm steel and it is, with exception of the heatsink, exactly of standard ATX size. Therefore, it should fit without any problem in all ATX PC cases.

Like expected the prosilence showed very good results. During the tests the temperatures were around 40-41°C (5 case fans where running). During the 3Dmark2001 we detected very minor voltages instrabillitys at 0,1 volts in the 5 volts level (between 4,93V and 5,03V) . But those tiny instabillitys are 100% in the optimal level , and only measurable , not noticable at all. The standart 5 V mode works with 4,75-5,25 Volts. We tested a Zalman ZM300-APF and a Standart PSU. The Zalman had the same result at the 5V level. The standart PSU the 5V level went down in the critcal area under 4,75V.

Without any doubts the Prosilence 350 Watts is the best fanless PSU we ever tested. Bestgrades for voltage stabillitys and temperatures. Highly recommend for every silent PC. We didnot detect any technical negatives However , becuase it has an Alu heatsink outside , there could be some little problems with building the PSU in some PC cases. If anybody knows such a case , please send a us a notice. an updated version of the prosilence PSU comes out during the Cebit , and of course we will test it for you.
