QuickTime Alternative (QT7) 1.71

Source / Download: FileForum
Freeware
__________
Publisher's Description:

QuickTime Alternative will allow you to play QuickTime files without having to install the official QuickTime Player. All QuickTime formats (.mov .qt .3gp etc.) are supported, including streaming content and QuickTime content that is embedded in webpages. Some advantages compared to QuickTime player are the quick and easy install, make an unattended installation, no background processes, use a player of your own choice, low on resources, and smaller size.

Based on Quicktime 7.

QuickTime Alternative has the following other editions available: QuickTime Alternative (QT6).

Latest Changes:
  • Updated Media Player Classic to version 6.4.9.0 rev. 611
  • Downgraded QuickTime components to version 7.0.4.80. This restores Windows 2003/XP64 compatibility
  • Replaced QuickTime DirectShow parser with a new set of filters. These should perform better in WMP and other players. No DirectShow filters are required to play QuickTime files in Media Player Classic
  • Removed localized QT components, making everything English only. This reduces the installer size with 1 MB

That's a bit odd since this package did not run well here, with browser integration being broken. While 1.70 runs fine here on XP x64. Just a note.
