Indiana Jones to raise bar for next-gen

Source: Joystiq
__________
LucasArts is poised to set the standard for 'next-generation' animation in a new Indiana Jones adventure planned for release in 2007. The game will utilize NaturalMotion's new run-time animation technology called euphoria. Euphoria's goal is to replicate real-world physics. The days of pre-programmed animation are over. NaturalMotion's technology uses factors like strength, weight, and momentum to create accurate animations in real-time.

No mention of Aigia, or whatever the physics card manufacturer is called. I wonder when we'll see games taking advantage of it....

You almost had it... it's Ageia, and you're talking about PhysX, right? There are alot of games out there that have been optimized using the PhysX SDK, but I know there are about 6 games out that can use or rather that are optimized for the actual PhysX board. The only ones I remember are: Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends, Bet on Soldier, and City of Vilians, but I know that UT2007, Sacred II, the upcoming Warhammer MMO, and I think Microsofts Vangaurd will be using it too.

BTW, BFG will be putting out one of the first PhysX cards, which will run about $300. You can check it out HERE.

I would like to see driver support for games that are not specifically written for the card.

Alien1 is on a distinguished road

ATI has already stated somewhere that their next gen cards will have a physic engine implemented in their cards
I am sure Nvidia next gen cards is also going to follow

So you will not need any AGEIA kind of hardware from some stupid third party company...

plus
i would not really trust any Ageia drivers for my system\games stability until the opposite has been proved...

Sandok has a spectacular aura aboutSandok has a spectacular aura about

Depends if ATI and NV will have any market share left... I mean, sure it's more practicale but if the card is bigger, warmer and louder, I'd rather insert an extra PPU. And in addition, I don't want my GPU multitasking

True the things already have more transistors than your CPU and it's own FAST memory. Trying to throw a PPU on top of that PCB would be difficult if not impossible.
