External hard drive enclosures are gaining widespread use in today’s computer market for transferring files from one PC to another. Most of these enclosures use USB 2.0 as the means of transfer, while some do employ SATA connectivity. The advantage of SATA over USB is transfer speed with SATA being 6 times faster than USB 2.0 and 3 ½ times faster than IEEE 1394B.
