Registered DDR?

Ok so my specs are this.

Asus SK8N Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 FX-51
ATI Radeon 9800XT 256MB AGP 8x
4x512MB Corsair Registered DDR 400
Audigy2 ZS

I am looking to upgrade my GPU to a new PCI-E card, therefor I need a new motherboard aswell. I am worried about the Registered DDR. I needed it for the SK8N but will it work on any motherboard?

If it doesnt maybe you guys could help me find one that would work. I am really really sold on this one right now. Anything similar would be great even if it isnt crossfire compatible.

Thanks.

H3X4D3C1M4L will become famous soon enough
System Specs

Your proc won't work on that mobo, its a socket 939. Your FX51 is a socket 940.

Your only hope is to find a board that supports Opteron socket 940's. Look at Tyan boards, expensive but they kick some serious ass

I believe that most motherboards will be able to run the memory but I am unsure of whether it will run in ECC mode.. if I was you I would just get the Tyan S940 like H3X said, they are pretty amazing boards. You will get good performance from it that is .

Your memory won't run on 99% off all the boards out there, as Registered RAM is only supported on the Xeon and Opteron platform. Opteron platform means s940 or the next socket f, not the A64 platform s939.

Socket F is DDR2 my friend, and is now called AM2.

The RAM will work on other mobo's just not with ECC, its the proc thats incompatible

Not exactly...both Socket (A)M2 and F are DDR2, being Socket M2 the one for A64 and Socket F the one for Opteron.

Wrong. Unbuffered ECC runs on quite many boards while Registered ECC is required for Opterons and certain Xeon chipsets. There's not a single P3/P4/AXP/A64 board avaible which supports Registered RAM (doesn't matter if it's ECC or not).
