MX518, G5 or Diamondback

Which mouse to get? I'm leaning towards the G5, but I heard it has some trouble on some surfaces. I don't care for problems like responsiveness when picking the mouse up or stuff like that (i'm not a hardcore gamer), but I wouldn't wnat the cursor jumping all around the screen.

TIA

If you're not a gamer then you could get away with just a generic optical mouse or a wireless Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer (good for web stuff I find). If you do play games however I hear Logitech ones are great

Well, I am a gamer, just not hardcore. And for a change I'd like to try a top notch mouse (changing batteries during gameplay sucks!), but my friends have no experience with those, so I need an informed opinion from elsewhere. Wouldn't want to spend 50USD on an overhyped mouse...

I read you. I've had my Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 for a number of years now and I've been more than happy with it for gaming etc.

I've had a G5 since almost release and it is a great mouse, although it doesn't have a forward button. I have the scroll wheel set as back and forward however they don't work in firefox 1.5
