ati and creative driver confliction???
ok i wast sure where to put this so im putting it here under misc lol ok my prob is i have an x-fi xtreme music and whenever i try to install the drivers (with ati drivers on) 1 of a few things happen,or a combo
1.)the screen jsut goes blank during the install of x-fi drivers and dosent come back
2.)it says install successful and i resrtart but it freezes on the windows logo
3.)it says install successful and i resart and it gets past the windows logo but the ust blank screen
4.)i get bsod after windows logo
and when i take the ati drivers off and install the x-fi drivers, they work then i put ati drivers on and they dont (5.12 catalyst and latest x-fi drivers from creative.com)

I'm not familiar with the specific problem but here are my guesses. Try moving the X-Fi to another card slot. If that doesn't help, try modifying the ATI driver to not apply PCI latency programming. That takes a bit of tinkering (DisableProgPCILatency) with the corresponding .inf file(CX_29124.inf, if latest driver for WinXP), or you can try the Omega Drivers edition wich last I checked have it off by default.

Does the monitor work in another machine?
It technically shouldn't even matter.... a monitor is a monitor is a monitor until you get drivers installed.
