Motherboard SQUEAL sound

Hello,

I have been using an EPOX 8K7A motherboard for about a year now and have had virtually no problems, been a fabulous board. However, just as of lately, I have had the system completely crash. Normally it will give oddities in visuals, like horizontal lines or vertical ones too. Sometimes it will just freeze up too. There are never any windows error code screens associated with this. I have not made any hardware or software changes either. One thing that I did notice is that when this problem does happen, there is a SQUEAL coming from the motherboard. I have noticed some of the capacitors look a little bloated on it and am curious if they are the culprit. I have tested the Radeon in other motherboards and it works fine and when I stick other video cards in the epox, less powerful ones, they work fine. Does this motherboard have an issue with Radeon 7500 AIW's? Is it pulling too much from the capacitors? I have a good 400W power supply too. Hope this helps.

DJ

Check the CPU fan. Make sure it isn't rubbing against the heatsink.
