Samsung 914V LCD
Samsung 914V 19" LCD is on sale for 200 @ staples... my crt is going dim at times and about all the frequencies have a high pitched hummm to them. This looks pretty promising for the price what do you all think? Gotta know by tomorrow morning because the sale is only for a few hours Thanks!!!

hmm.... looking the specs.... definitely wouldn't want it... it appears to be one of there lower/lowest quality LCD, sporting only analog support. It doesn't support true color (It dithers, kinda like running a cross between 16 bit and 32, but then it dithers up to 32, so things aren't going to look very pretty in places).... 12ms responce isn't to bad. The contrast ratio may drive you nutz in comparison to a CRT...

Don't know, but i definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone i built a computer for.
Check the link, and i'd recommend checking out the LCD list that is under the DIGITAL area, they are generally a better monitor. find one that has some good specs, and see if you can find one in your price range...

My budget is around $200 so choices are very slim
As looking, I finding it hard to find 1 w/ better specs than that 1 in my price range

Looks like the Acer is a good one, but can't find out if the response time rating is grey to grey or black to white. The CTL is specified at the company site as black to white, which is more important. The Acer has slightly higher brightness and contrast ratings - but the difference is very small, likely small enough to ignore...
Of the two, I lean toward the CTL unit...
