wtf burned mobo with ram install

my friend had a HP 2.53 ghz media center, he wanted my 512mb ddr corsair 3200 so i said sure, 50 bux he said yea, so i installed it fine but when i turned on the computer it didnt post, so i brought it to pc store and they say mobo fried, WTH! so supposidly i owe him like 250 for the old mobo and i said pfff your gettin a 100 dollar mobo it will fit fine... but now he wants 300 because they say it fried the cpu, how the hell is this poss!?!?

yea rite i highly doubt that bro really do, ram couldn't do that much damage with one boot i doubt it but i dont' noe im not a expert

yea thats what i thought, at worst i thought i would take out that memory module but heh, i guess god wasnt on my side or some sh!t.

Put the old RAM back in, and send it back to HP. Sure, it's dishonest but eh, it's the only way to get it fixed right. [even though they will just give you a whole new comp]

System Specs

did you try the old ram in the same ram slot or any of the other slots? The RAM you purchased probably isn't compatible with that HP MoBo.
