best thing prolly would be to completly unplug the power supply from the sysytem, power down the supply w/ the switch in the bak, unplug motherbard ATX connector, the molex for your drives and any fans, then clear the CMOS w/jumper, make sure to maybe give it like 10 mins with the jumper off, maybe even pull the lil round CMOS battery out while the jumper is off. then replug in all the pwr supply cables and replace the battery{be sure to put it in the right way},

? yer cpu cooler fan is it plugged into the mobo 4 power or directly into the PSU, if its plugged into the mobo and when u pwr up and nothing comes on but the fan is spinning yer mobo is getting power, then u can try to reseat yer RAM espesially and any other PCI AGP cards

just troubleshoot the basics cause blowin out yer CPU you clda blew a wire off or a jumper or sumtin, HD jumper for SATA enable?

ya maybe then yank out all yer RAM and try to get it to post with only the 512 stik, wait first u said yer ROMs and HD wont "boot", do they even power on or no? if they wont power on then that yer PROB, u should be able to hear the HD spinnin and be able to open the ROMS up as soon as u pwr on weather or not the MB posts at all, but if theyr pwr'n on try the RAM reseat with only one stick and the Vid Card reseat, yer MOBO wont post if those 2 things r messed up. if after the reseat, replug of pwr sply and cmos clear, no post........

thats a lil too vague really, there r various bios settings, some that will inpact wheather or not a board will post and others that shouldnt matter

wat kinda psu u movin to i recomend a OCZ ModStream 520, they can be had 4 bout 100 dollars and an OCZ is almost definatly goin in my next sysyem.
U dont wanna temporarily fix the prob with a less than adaquate supply

i put a 420 psu in it that my mom had in her computer which is a amd 3200 xp and a gigabyte mobo with a corney nvidia geforce quardo card but it boots up fine it just won't let me save my settings in my bios and if i boot into windows i can't restart if i restart i have to clear my bios again so the only way i can do stuff is my shuting down which is very lame

ya i dunno, wat were ya usin to blow it out? can of air, or sumthin stronger like a compressor? i generally use a compressor but either stay a good foot and a half away from the parts or deflect the air off my hand, hopefully u didnt hurt yer board, but it def sounds like MB prob, although i guess it still might be a PWR SPLY thing. ima be out 4 awhile, but ill bb online l8r

Aight, first things first:

Double check your cables. Make sure they are all connected properly, and not backwards. If you are using cable select remember that for your hard drive the master drive goes on the very end of the cable, slave would be the middle connector. Usually for optical drives you would use Master/Slave settings.. double check them though, and the same goes for the hard drives if you are using that setup.

Also, double check the jumpers on the board. See if any are missing, or that they are in the right place. As well, double check to see that you don't have any loose screws floating around on the motherboard (look for anything near the bios, or the jumpers for the bios).

Take out your devices (video card, ram, sound card, ect.), and clean out the sockets with a can of air. Whatever you do don't turn the can upside down to do this as you will be spraying liquid into the case.. keep the can right-side up at all times. Wipe down the different cards with a clean, soft cloth, then reseat them.

Give those a try, and lemme know the results.

-Tip
