No problem, I'm sure you'll love the A64 no matter which board you decide to get(especially if you're into gaming). There's a nice review at anand where they test quite a few VIA and NF3 boards if you want to give it a quick read

just read in amd forum that abit avb8 and msi k8n neo2 have issues with the winchester chipset.any thoughts

The 4000+ is a 754pin cpu so its single channel. Easy way to remember this is that all 754's are single and all 939's and 940's are dual
Also I'm running a Winchester/K8N Neo2(which btw the 4000+ is not) and it is fine. If you go through the forums at amdmb.com you'll see that the Neo2 is one of the best to use with 90nm cpus.

All 4000+s are 939. 754 only goes up to 3700+.

have another question.l have thermaltake butterfly 480 W psu with fan control.wondering with amd 64 chipset 4000+,wil this fan be ok or will l need a bigger watts psu.also will have 2 250 gig hard drives,dvd burner and cd burner ,creative audgy2 sound card, 1 gig of munkin memory ,dual channel,msi neo2 plat socket 939 motherboard and new ati sapphire radeon x800xt pe with 256 ram.will this psu handle all this ok or will l need higher watt psu

I have the asus a8v and I love it. It does have a bios updater from within windows, too. It comes on the install cd (can't download it from their site so hold onto the cd).

have new msi board and amd 64 chip.it arrived today.now having problem getting g- card.had ordered a x800 xt pe.given 3 different dates of arrival.now its mid january 2005,so l canceled it.now looking for x800 xt or x800 xt pe in europe as l can't get from usa or canada as these don't take european credit cards.won't buy ar ebay as price overtop.so if anyone knows where in europe to get one of these x800 xt for agp ,please let me know

did a rma on msi mobo and got a abit av8 third eye.had few probs with msi.was my third msi in 4 weeks.abit seems to work better so far.one of probs l had was l have 2 gig of munskin pc3500 memory level1.msi mobos didn.t like.was cheaper to change mobo
