Replacing Mobo and CPU

Well, I remember seeing a thread here about how to do it with out re installing windows, could someone forward me to that?

it can be done, but is an extremely bad idea...especially if the mobo has a different chipset then the original one.

You should definitely just do the reformat, saves a lot of headache in the end.

But, I believe the method for keeping the same OS, was to do a Rapair from the install CD . . . someone should confirm
