AMD 64... Newcastle or Clawhammer

I was wondering which of the two cores would be the better to pursue... in terms of money for performance. Newcastle vs Clawhammer.

System Specs

Newcastle is the newer core of those two, with an improved memory controller.

Alright thanks.

Any suggestions for type of motherboard? I've been looking into the K8T800 and the nforce3.

I think the majority of people are in favor of nForce3.
though I have a plain K8T800 and it's fine for my needs (and I'm not much of an overclocker)

Okay well I was planning on getting a Winchester and I found out that K8T is the only way to go... Thanks for the feedback!

You're correct the Clawhammer is better, and is the one that's going to the 90nano SOI process from 130 nano..I have an Athlon XP 3700 1mb l2 cache running stock right,I have ran it to 2.65 gig on a cold night..
