super fast memory and the amd 64 cpu

would an a64 sytem benefit from using 500mhz speed memory or higher on a single channel setup. i am currently running two 512mb corsair 2700xms sticks on a mis k8t800neo board/amd 64 3000 . the highest i have ran this cpu is 2.37ghz.the memory is running around 391 mhz at this setting.

has anyone had any experience or results using fast memory such kingston hyperx 4000 or something similar?

i would hate to go out and buy 1gb of 500mhz and have no noticable difference in performance.

system spec

amd 64 3000@2.2ghz
msi k8t800neo fisr motherboard
1gb corsair xms ram
gainward 6800 gt
creative labs audigy 2 soundcard
and other stuff

Yout will actually get lower performance with DDR500 mem(because of more relaxed timings) unless you OC the mobo. So unless you plan to OC that board to 250+ htt you should save your money
