Gigabyte GA-8INXP BIOS Settings - What works for you?

Does anyone still use this motherboard? I'm wondering whether any BIOS setting changes have improved your system's performance and/or stability. If so, then please share! :-)

I've had the 8INXP with a Radeon 9700 Pro for nearly 2 years, and pretty much throughout that time my system has crashed on me often, although these days the problem is limited just to 3D games like Doom 3 rather than the Windows desktop. In those games, the game typically hangs (freezes), then the screen goes blank, then gets smeared with bands of colour, goes blank again, then another garbled picture with popping sounds from the speakers. Sometimes the system restarts itself. There is no specific point in any game where this happens for sure.

I'm using the F5 BIOS revision, and have the following settings which I thought might be relevant:

Delayed Transaction: ENABLED
AGP Aperture Size: 128MB
AGP Transfer Rate: 4X (although it resets to 8X through the graphics drivers)

Everything else is at Optimal Settings, though I've disabled the on-board audio, SCSI and SATA controllers as I have no need for them.

I've tried disabling Delayed Transaction but that seemed to make the stability worse. Changing the AGP Aperture Size down to 64MB didn't look like it made any difference. As for the Transfer Rate, I read somewhere that although the graphics driver overrides the setting to 8X, setting it to 4X in the BIOS can help with stability. I can't tell.

On the graphics card side, I'm using Catalyst 4.9, with everything at the default setting except for AGP Fast Write, which I've turned OFF because I've had serious stability problems when it is left on.
