Absolutely!
The graphics card RAM has no bearing on the motherboard RAM support, the only thing which matters is:
1. Modern AGP 8x and some AGP 4x motherboards will not support old AGP 1.0 Graphics cards (1x/2x) - since they operate at 3.3v, the slot keyways should not even allow them to be fitted.
2. Old AGP 1.0 motherboards can only accept "universal" cards of more recent design - newer and more powerful AGP 8x cards are dropping 3.3v support, and some 4x cards are not fully backward compatible.
