Hello. Im running windows xp SP2 on my system. if i install the AGP drivers, the system will start up and run for maybee 2-3 min sometimes 5-10 minutes. My system says that the AGP is running at 8x, which is correct, but dies at / near the times mentioned.
If i remove the drivers as described (and recomended) in the Viaareana forums it will load up great. however, upong looking int he control panel my current AGP settings are ... 0x .... ARGH! so if i re-install the AGP driver for the chipset, it dies again. i have tried both the newest 1.453 and the older 1.451. im for a loss here.
when i look into my bios settings, i cannot change my AGP mode. its set to "auto" and i cannot move it. upon attempting to adjust the agp mode in my control panel (smart guard area) it says i need to re-test and boot up. at that point, it doesnt work.
How / What can i do to fix this? has anyone seen this before?
In case you do not know what i have for a system, this link will show you what i bought from newegg.
