NF7-S V2 Cold Boot?

has anyone noticed that on a cold boot for the nf7-s v2 board that the temps are about 10 degrees F less than after a reboot of the system? anyone know why this happens? in all the years in building machines i've never seen this before with motherboards. i have two of them that do it. the one i built for home and the one i built at work.

usually after about 4 or 5 hours of being off when i boot up my amd 2800+ sits around 70-80 degrees F even when i play games. if i reboot the machine it comes back up and sits around 90-105. both machines do this. i'm running a 2800+ on my box and a 2000+ on the one i built for a small test machine. i've never seen other machines do this. i know my intel machine is consistant in temps either on a cold boot or a reboot. i just think it is weird with these nf7-s v2 boards. never seen it before in all the machines i've built.

you mean it's 70-80 after playing a game, then rebooting immediately it shows 10ºF higher? if so, that definitely is weird.
never heard of that before

yeah does it with two of the same boards. different processors, different power supplies (same manufacturor Enlight), different ram, different everything. even the bios are different for each board with one running the newest and the other running a few behind. i've never noticed this with my old p4 box i had together which i finally got a new box for my amd parts, so it will be back together shortly. even my amd 1900+ server running a via board doesnt do this...although i've never had it off for more than 5 hours as it runs my email and web page. i find it funny i can play a game and then get out and it sitting around the 75 to 80 degrees F afterwards. but then when i reboot and play a game it jumps to 90-100. just wondering if this was a bug with the nforce chipset with the winbond temp readings for these boards or if anyone else has seen this or tested this.

oh and i've tested this with three different temp reading progs as well as just reading it in the bios. i've used hardware monitor, abit's eq (until it broke because of the newest bios which apparently is a known issue and not getting fixed as of right now), as well as motherboard monitor which is what i'm using right now.

yup bios 2.3 for the nf7-s v2 boards. was this a known issue with these boards? it sounds like it rings a bell to ya.

abit i'm guessing.... Abit's Temp monitors are known to be.... er... somewhat unreliable... and actually alot of people notice the 10* difference in actual.. temps.... sometimes it reading 10 to low.. or 10 to high...

hmm...that's strange because i have built several machine with abit boards and these two recent ones are the only ones i see this issue with. all via and intel chipsets seem to show correctly. i just found it strange that two nf7-s v2 boards do the same thing,
