Acer 99sl drivers needed.

I recently obtained an Acer 99sl monitor. It's a very large monitor which is a definite plus, but everything appears a little blurry or something. I can't really describe it in full detail, but basically it's fuzzy or blurry. I tried going to Acer's website for the drivers, but they do not have specific drivers for this monitor, unless I missed something. All I saw was drivers for a bunch of certain monitors, and for all others you could download a rather large .ZIP file and locate yours inside of that. I couldn't find mine, so I'm stuck with fuzzy text and pictures.

Anyone know where I can get these drivers at?

You may not even need a "driver" (actually, just an INF file).

http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.c...eid=424&page=2
This shows the available resolutions and scan rates:

Code:
Resolution Freq Hor. Freq Ver. Standard
640X480 31.5kHz 60Hz VESA
640x400 31.5kHz 70Hz VGA
800x600 46.9kHz 75Hz VESA
800x600 53.7kHz 85Hz VESA
1024x768 60.0kHz 75Hz VESA
1024x768 68.7kHz 85Hz VESA
1280x1024 80.0kHz 75Hz VESA
1280x1024 91.1kHz 85Hz VESA
1600x1200 81.3kHz 65Hz VESA
If you're running an 85Hz refresh rate, use the custom setting to bring it down to 75Hz - I had a card/monitor combination that could DO 85Hz refresh, but was VERY soft - 75Hz was a LOT clearer - that's not uncommon.

Well the main problem is that my computer is not recognizing the monitor. It says "Plug and Play Monitor."

I'm not sure what I can do to make it see it for what it really is. I think if it identified it then this problem could be alleviated easily.

no prob.

download the file, and save it somewhere handy.
now, open your Display properties, click the Settings tab, and the Advanced button
in the new window, click the Monitor tab, and then the Properties button
then in that window, click the Driver tab, and then the Update Driver... button
when prompted, choose the option to "Search for a suitable driver..."
then check the "Specify a location" box, and browse to where you saved the .inf file
many OK's later, and you should see whether it worked (might need a reboot)

hopefully the above looks the same on your comp
let me know if you got it, I'll be around a while yet
