Back then that speed tests showed this speed-
Nov. 03-
Now it shows 1.0 to 1.5mb/sec.
I know that my speed is up around 2.8Mbps though, because when I download a file from fast server it goes up to about 800KBpd, then settles down to around 360KBps, sometimes a little slower- For some reason that speed test isn't accurate for me anymore, it always tells me my connection is much slower than it actually is.. Who knows why.

This was when my connection was blazing-
That's right, that's 2MB/sec- before the caps were put on the DL, it was that fast all the time down, but my
upload was about 78Kb/sec up- slow as hell. I wish I could get a connection like that again! Probbaly
never will.

well, it seems that site is located in New York, so the result will be different from east coast, or west coast, or Europe. I think it's best to use a speed test from your own ISP, if they have one. Or if not, at least one in your locality, at off-peak hours.

We have ADSL 256 Kbps up/1.5 Mbps down.
I guess the distance from the....central controller (or whatever you call it ) lowers that a bit. Our actual speed seems to be 24 KB up and 160 KB down. We were recently (a few months ago) increased from 128 Kbps up/ 768 Kbps down.
Beats the heck out of a 56k modem anyway.....and the pings are great.

Your endorsement means a lot to me panging. I need to hang out though until the final release from Microsoft as the system at home is so stable - I've little time to deal with computer problems (if they occur - and they haven't thank the Lord...) at home.
When the final comes out, I'll download from here at work (T1 speed), burn to CD, and run it on home!
Nice thing about the Security Update CD I got from Microsoft today is it will work for both the 98se and XP Pro partitions I have on the home unit.

yes you're right and the SP1 is very stable as of now, you should wait for the final then, unless you have a free partition/HDD space to test it with...
