I just cleared my CMOS and need help
The story started when i set my ram timing to low and my computer wouldent boot or even send a signal to the monitor. I used the jumper method to clear my CMOS now the computer starts but i get a BIOS NOT INSTALLED msg, don't really know what to do about that! and i cant boot to windows i cant even select my hard drive in the boot sequence. I have a SATA RAID if that makes any diffrence. Any help on this issue would be great. also im kinda a noob so keep that in mind in your answers thanks.

In the bios did you change the boot sequence to include sata? Normally after clearing the cmos it's something like floppy, cd-rom,hd-0 which is ide1 channel. You have to manually configure the bios to enable booting from sata. I'm now downloading the k8t manual, there may be another setting in advanced chipsets where you have to enable sata as well. like on my nf7-s. I'll post back in a bit after looking it over.

Well I downloaded the manual and there's very scarce bios info there
Anyways if yours is an award bios similar to mine you'll need to enable the sata controller as well.
In your bios head into the Intergrated Peripherals section you should see 2 listings for Onchip Pci Device
My sata is listed in the second one. You should see something like
Sata Controller
Sata Raid Rom
Make sure they are enabled especially the first one..If your not using raid I think you can leave the second one disabled but I just enable them both anyways . On my board they are disabled by default...

this is an extremely odd thing as when ever i've seen the "bios not installed" message... the computer won't even boot.... as there isn't a bios to do it.....extremely odd..

I think the message may be for the SATA Bios. Can you change the boot sequence? With #2 being disabled you need to "enable" it and choose SATA, and then make sure that your SATA devices are enabled. But in any case, if you are able to enter the BIOS and change things, than at best your BIOS may be corrupted, in which can be fixed by flashing it, though this should really only be done by someone that has experience in this matter. Flashing a BIOS incorrectly can damage your mother board.

My SCSI card says "BIOS not installed" as it doesn't have any drives which need BIOS (I only use it for a scanner).
I'd guess the message is from a SCSI, SATA or RAID controller

Also before i couldent select my hard drive in the boot sequence i dont know about now, havent checked but it boots to windows so im gessing its good. Im downloading new raid drivers as we speak maybe that will do something. One more question tho u guys think its worth geting an audigy 2 zs i currently have onboard audio, i have logitech z-560 speakers so there not too bad, will i notice a diffrence with a audigy?
