looking @ new CPU?
Hi guys
I have an Abit AT7 MAX2 and the latest Bios EB I'm looking at getting a new CPU now looking for @ one of these AMD XP2600+ (Thoroughbread) OEM FSB 333 AMD XP2700+ (Thoroughbread) OEM FSB 333 AMD XP2800+ (Barton) OEM FSB 333 AMD XP3000+ (Barton) OEM FSB 333 Which one should go for? Thanks for any idears guys  |

I read some where that there is a problem with the XP3000+ Barton cpu on the AT7 MAX2 is this ture?

Why not the 2500+ barton? Its EASILY the best of all of those. (ESPECIALLY if your getting a locked one)

Yeah, bartons after 0339 have locked multis. Before that are unlocked.

so how would u know if it unlocked then?

Look at its stepping. If its after 0339 its locked, if its before its unlocked.
