(networking help needed) 2 HIGH Bandwidth connections used as one?!

OK.. i've been pondering this for a long time now..

Ever since i got up and running on highspeed.... i was considering getting 2 highspeed connections.... Problem.... how do i setup one cable modem to be strickly used as download... and the other for upload... or how could i split the work up... (the one for up and one for down is the only method i know of being able to do... but not know how to )

I have a router with one WAN connection in... i don't really want to get some proxy crap going.... but i was thinking maybe there is a way to do it with a configureable 3 port hub with the 2 modems going into it... and the 3rd going to the WAN on the router...

what if i got cable and DSL? would that be better?..... i'd have to check and see how much faster the DSL here is (it's saposed to have a bit higher upload then my cable)

I wouldn't even know where to begin or whether it could be done. But, if I were to give it a whirl, I'd start with the ECHO settings....if there are any.

Just get 2 cable connections and get a load balancing router ( About $250 for a cheap one) That way you use BOTH connections and double your up and down speed......
