do i need mobo fan?
ok i have a gigabyte 8KNXP in a Xaser III case
the thing is the fan on the mobo is making alot of noise (like a crunchy BUURRRRRR) i have taken it of and cleaned it out, it made little difference...the noise is driving me insane
i tried a couple of local PC stores and they said they cant get them (replacement fan)
my question is: would the mobo be ok with just the heatsink on?
(the rig has NO oc's what so ever)
with all the case fans i would of thought it would be ok...
please let me know the deal!

the thermal take orb is LOUD! Its louder than my tornados. I can clearly hear it over them.
go with the Zalman as long as you have good case cooling.

think their is something wrong with your Orbs. I have 2 of them in 2 different systems and they are very quiet........Blow them out with some air. Maybe their is too much dirt in them and that is causing the noise. Or you have a blade rubbing but the Orbs are NOT loud at all...

jus put a popscicle on it that always works lol jk
yea that board needs some cooling on the northbridge, but the heatsink is fine everyone uses that on the nf2 boards. only 865/875 intel boards need it cause of PAT, its basically overclocking so the northbridge gets hotter. but nf2 dont really need that its more of a thing for fun

I have it contected to the motherboard 3 prong connecter

not sure weather it makes a difference, but I run my orbs without the little lid on them. It seems very restricting on airflow.

..well.... cooling a part... and actually getting the air moving outside the case are to different stories... no cooler will be able to do it's job without actually some form of completely getting rid of the air that was used to cool it.... or else you end up with a loop.... good...or excellent air exhaust is a must have...
