starting problem
I have a MSI Motherboard for AMD Athlon/AthlonXP/Duron processors (@ 100/133/166 FSB), Model# K7N2-L (MS-6570-010) and ati 9700 nonpro card. my system wuz working fine but i recently tried an all in wonder 9700 pro card on my pc.. the computer started for just abt a sec and then closed .. most probably cause it didnt get enough power .. 300w unbranded power supply. then i installed my old card again but now the computer starts and makes long beeping sounds and nothing appears on the monitor. i have to atleast restart the computer 10 times in quick gaps of 2-3 secs to make it wurk properly. it then works fine but when i start it again the same thing happens. any suggestions please?

Have you completely removed and then re-installed the drivers when swapping out the cards?

The fact that the computer starts fine after several tries and from what you did before the failure tells me you likely have an intermittent problem with your motherboard or your power supply is in a borderline failure mode.
Is the beep one long continuous beep, or is it a pattern of short and/or long beeps or a combination - please listen and let us know - OK?

the beep is a pattern of long beeps... the monitor says please check the video cable and computer. along with the beeps the cpu loading light blinks as it is normally loading but NOTHING comes on the screen except for the given message before. if it is power supply shortage then why is it that it was working PERFECT before the card change and not now by the way what is EARLY CHIPSET INITIALIZATION

If the post codes comply with the IBM type code scheme, the indication is power supply or mainboard problem (which also means anything installed on the mainboard - memory, PCI/AGP cards, processor)
Question - did you unplug the unit while swapping video cards? I know this sounds real basic, but I fried a PCI card one time even though the computer was powered off. Power is supplied to the slots in most ATX type computers even though the unit is powered off. It was naive mistake at the time...
Edit: Ignore the message on the monitor at this point - it is just telling you that it is not receiving a video signal from the computer.
