Asus M4A79 Deluxe
I just ordered one of these and was curious if DH has a review in the works? It has 4 PCI-e slots and Sata 3 ports. I also grabbed a Phenom II X3 720 2.8Ghz Black Editon to go with it. If anyone has this setup any tips or tricks for BIOS tweaking are welcome. I should have it Tuesday or Wednsday so any input is welcomed

Re: Asus M4A79 Deluxe
Don't have the board but I built a rig recently for a coworker with the 720 x3 BE and an ASUS 790GX. Asus BIOS are pretty easy to use (maybe the easiest, thats why they are so popular). Not much to it except bump up your multiplier and that 720 BE will cut loose. Try out AMD Overdrive to insure stability.
Very good combo, enjoy!

Re: Asus M4A79 Deluxe
i've that board..
got it from DH/AMD with their Dragon platform.. The board is quite good... plenty of bios updates have been made that have indeed done some good things. My only real issue is the fact that i'm finding more and more boards that are dropping the top PCI-EX down one slot from the top... this results in a staggered pci-ex layout which then makes it more difficult to install additional cards, specially with the 2 bottom pci-ex slots beside each other. And with the HD4870x2 that Asus made with the 3 fans which take up more then 2 slots.... installing 2 of them is basically impossible.

Re: Asus M4A79 Deluxe
Tried to unlock the 4th core on his too...didn't like it as well. Don't worry, the 720BE is a lot of processor for the price and you won't be disappointed!

Re: Asus M4A79 Deluxe
Haven't used that motherboard at all on any builds. But yeah I haven't gotten any of those to get the forth core running. Sometimes you get lucky.....most of the time nope. My clients were none the wiser either way in their builds so it wasn't an issue here.
