Re: Phoenix - Award WorkstationBIOS v6.00PG Update
Hi there!
If gateway don't have BIOS updates then it means that there isn't one. Since the BIOS is customized for every motherboard model by the maker of the motherboard. I did a bit og googling and found that your BIOS reversion is the newest for that motherboard. |

Re: Phoenix - Award WorkstationBIOS v6.00PG Update
Oh ok. Thanks! I was wanting to upgrade my processor to a dual-core. As I believe it's the highest I can go on my PC. So does that mean I'd be able to switch it out without the BIOS update as there isn't one?

Re: Phoenix - Award WorkstationBIOS v6.00PG Update
What CPU you are looking at?? The CPU slot is Socket 939 so you would get some older Athlon 64 for it.

Re: Phoenix - Award WorkstationBIOS v6.00PG Update
Well I've been looking around to see what I can get for a s939, not many choices. I have an AMD Athlon 64 4000+ right now. I was seeing if there was something faster that I could go with. But it doesn't look like there are many choices. So I suppose I'd be better off getting a new system.

Re: Phoenix - Award WorkstationBIOS v6.00PG Update
Yeah at this point you may be most likely better off with getting a new system. But if you are really wanting to get a dual core for 939 I would suggest something in the 4000-5000+ range. That way you aren't going too far beyond what you have (for the sake of your motherboard) and you will still get a performance boost from having a dual core rather than a single core.
