Cannot connect to my wireless network...
I recently bought and installed an EW-7128g PCI wireless card, but I have not been able to connect to any network so far.
In hopes of getting it to work I set my network settings to no security and it still won't connect. The weird thing is that it detects my network and I am getting anywhere form 99-100% signal strength. I have no clue how to fix this problem.

Which OS are you using?
What router are you using?
Have you installed any wireless programs that came with the card?
Do you have other computers that connect succesfully?
Have you installed the latest drivers from here:

I am using Windows XP
My router is a D-link Dir-615
I first installed the provided CD and then updated the driver and stand-alone program
Yes, I have other computers that easily connect to the network
thanks

Try to change the channel of your wireless broadcast. Sometimes allot of network traffic in the area, from apartments or other houses, that are on the same channel as yours can have an effect.
Aside from that, I've seen windows wireless configuration and 3rd party connection programs screw with eachother. Try uninstalling the stand alone program, and simply use windows as the connection API, its more than adequate in most cases.
Let us know what you get trying to mess around with those. Also, i know this would be silly, but make sure you have enough DHCP slots, or set yourself a static ip on the same subnet on your wireless adapter.

Thanks to your advice ,syndicate, I changed the channel and set my network to no security/encryption and now I am connected, but...
when I go into my browser, I cannot connect to any website. Looking at my network status I see that I am sending packets but not receiving, so how can I resolve this?

I'd heartily recommend this as well, I'm not sure if I've ever seen 3rd party wireless programs that were actually necessary.

Here is something else I found out. When I give my computer a static ip and dns it will connect but I cannot access any website. If I let it auto configure ip and dns then it will go to acquiring network address and then I will get the "limited or no connectivity".
As I said earlier I can send but not recieve packets.

I think I am getting a little bit closer to getting the internet to cooperate. In my router settings I added a DHCP reservation for my computer.
I still am not recieving packets...

I found that when I let DHCP assign my IP address it starts with 169, so does that narrow down the problem?

I called D-Link and they helped me fix my problem, yahhh!!!!
All they told me to do was basically power-cycle my router and modem. So I now have wireless internet... feels good...

sorry I wasnt able to get back to you at all over the weekend and glad to hear it worked out for you!
Sometimes just changing some settings and then a nice power cycle helps fix it all up!

Ah, D-Link. This last year I've been really disappointed with them. Their DIR-655 router has been fun to deal with, as is their DIR-615 (which has 2 revisions btw), Gamelounge Extreme.. pretty much with all their N products. They either work, don't work, work then don't then work again, take multiple revisions of drivers/firmware to work, or the best part, D-Link recalls the product (as is the case with their DWA-524 N wireless card).
Do yourself a favor, btw, and make sure to set the 802.11 speed of your connection to one mode only, such as b, g, or n. Do not use mixed mode (that means don't have it set to support b, g, and n all at once). If you have to do mixed mode, do g and n only (don't have b on).
