300N PCI Wireless Adapter + over 2GB ram = Hardlock
At first i thought it was just a horrible design by "Airlink101" on thier pci 300n cards..
so i jump over to asus.... behold same exact issue to the T OK, jump to another brand... wtf same thing Anything that uses the RaLink 300N spec chipset on these add in cards seems to be all affected by some weird issue... that if you have over 2gb of ram (4gb or more for sure).... and attempt to upload any significant amount, within about 5 seconds of starting an upload... be it posting a picture, uploading an attachment, whatever, any significant amount will instantly cause the system hardlock. Windows vista x64 It has been ages since i've seen such a thing happen, a hardlock like this. Usually hardlocks i've seen more recently usually ends up with a reboot occuring automatically or an eventual BSOD... NOPE.. Hardlock so bad that even the hardrive and some of it's files have showed up in an errornous state (wow....) I've tried email all the companies about the issue, but i've essentially been waiting months with no answer in sight.. Anyone have 300n wireless adapters that they know of that doens't use the ralink chipset? Every card i figure i'd try out ends up having that damn chipset like ralink is the only company producing the chipset capable of 300n.

Ralink Chipset vs Athenos
Athenos provided me that ability to upload However, the chipset is flawed again in another manner, providing inconsistant connections.. AKA Packetloss out the wazoo.. Making it essentially slower then dialup to upload/surf... And playing games is impossible. Does anyone make a decent PCI/PCI-EX Wireless adapter at all? Everything i've touched thus far is JUNK....

Isn't Atheros the new name for Attansic? If I remember, they made fairly good gigabit hardware, so I shouldn't see why you'd have such problems with Wireless N unless your router and other gear weren't set up with eachother properly (which would explain packet loss).
