??? Just need a wireless card?

Hi everyone. I just built my first new computer and I'm giving my old one to my mom to use. They have high speed internet (cable) and my neice has a Linksys router set up in her bedroom. The computer I'm giving my mom is going in the living room and there is a wall between the two rooms. I have searched high and low on the web looking for information about this and that is how I found this forum. Is a wireless PCI card the only thing I need to get my mom hooked up onto their internet?

I went ahead and ordered a wireless card already; EDIMAX EW-7128G 802.11b/g PCI Wireless Card. According to the info I've been able to locate on the web this is all it seems I need, but I want to be sure.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi there and welcome to DriverHeaven!

That looks good card and the fact that it has antenna that you can put on the table gives better connection for you.

Thanks, but is a wireless PCI card the only thing I need to get my mom hooked up onto their internet? I'm wanting to get some information about how this hooks up, what steps to take, anymore equipment to buy, etc.

Yeah since you got WLAN router all you need to do is make sure the WLAN is secured properly, use WPA2 if you can. And your routers manual should have guide how to do it.
