ok heres the down low on todays technology
we got
Quad Core CPUs
Intel is the new king of computing, AMD got crushed mercilessly
the newest memory standard is DDR3 and goes up to 1800mhz
one can have up to 4 GPUs/ cards in one system now
4 gigs of RAM is the new gaming standard.
so where do you wanna start?

X38 is Intel's most powerful enthusiast class chipset, it is THE best performing item in Intels motherboard MCPs
the G33 is intel's budget MCP, it comes equipped with lower end features, integrated graphics and the boards usually have no RAID support.
depending on what you want to do, you cant go wrong with the X38 chipset, but it depends on what you wanna do.

6 gigs? thats not efficient, go with either 4 or 8 gigs, and thats a DDR3 motherboard, to get a set of 2x2GB memory will set you back about
600 dollars.....
the best Quad Core today is the Intel Core 2 Quad Extreme QX9650 thats my recommendation

no dont! not good CPUS to go with at all,
if you want to go with a Kentsfield core CPU, id rather you go with a Q6600
the QX9650 is the best CPU out there, it is at least 20% better than the QX6850 and the Q6700
you can also OC the thing to 5GHz easy.

lol because going with the other quads is not as futureproof,
most people cant afford an extreme edition chip so my second recommendation is a Q6600 G0 stepping CPU, it has all the power as the other models if you just do some minor OCing
Newegg.com - Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz 2 x 4MB L2 Cache LGA 775 Quad-Core Processor - Retail
