I am not sure about using the other BIOS, but I am pretty sure that you can't. I did go to the ASUS site and look for an updated BIOS and noticed that there is a Beta BIOS listed for your board dated 3-19-2003 list as 1003.002 beta.

http://www.asus.com/support/download...elName=P4S8X-X

I would just use this BIOS or just wait a week or two for the final to come out. By the way, looks like a sweet board.

System Specs

It's not a stupid question, but do not attempt to use a BIOS meant for another board. It wil probably leave your board useless and you'll have to RMA. But Asus is always pumpin out new bios' all the time so you'll see some for yours soon enough.

Anytime you flash your BIOS you stand a chance of something going wrong. But from my experience with Asus and there driver's........you shouldn't have anything at all to worry about, and it will most likely mean a decent performance boost or at least better stability. Chances are the beta will be turned in to a final release here shortly. Just make sure you back up your original BIOS in case you dont like the beta.

Good luck!!

It`s not necessarly to buy a new BIOS chip . An IT Service can re-flash the BIOS chip if they have the same MoBo as your ... and is neccesarly that your MoBo BIOS chip to be socketed , not sticky . If is sticky on MoBo ... U need an upgrade
