i may give that whirl next time.... i typically like to stick with using windows own partitioning systems.... usually works out all the time.... this is apparently one case lol
as for the board..
it's a hell of alot better then that POS MSI 975x board.... It's sleak, runs super cool.... and aside from the intial hitches i ran into, seems to be a top end performer....

it's only just a way that i always do, it's to eliminate problem before starts. and it makes my Windows setup on any board, any controllers, any drives types faster.
try it, who knows, it might takes you very own experience to a different level.
and good to know that you like the board.

Acronis Disk Director version 10 is my today's favorite.
the program's rescue-CD in its safe mode version.
well, if i recall, i already told you once about the program, also posted some instructions and pics on how i use the program to partition a Intel ICHxR RAID volume.

Paragon Hard Disk Manager had been my favorite disk partitioning programs in the past
but the last version of it and quite a few other disk partitioning programs that i had been using before, all of the recure-CDs/-disks had problem with either detecting Intel ICHxR RAID, AHCI controllers or with some of system's keyboards.
so the Acronis Disk Director version 10 is my favorite partitioning program for today alright.
but one thing about Acronis's software programs, i've not found this problem in its Disk Director program, however, with the True Image program, you may carefully want to check its recure-CD out at each and everytime you made an update for a newer build version of the program, otherwise, all of sudden it stops working for whatever you have been seeing it's working just fine before in its previous build. so my only suggestion will be to stick with the build version of the program you know it always get the job done for you.

Acronis Windows program's itself may not have problem, and the Windows program does not have much use for me, it's just needed to be install, so that the program has been licensed.
the Acronis program's rescue-CD is what you want to check and to make sure that it works for you, and it is the one you want to keep.
the rescue-CD must contain both Acronis programs in full version and in safe mode version,
the safe mode versions are the ones that can work on my Intel ICHxR RAID controllers
