Hello guys!
I´m overclocking a CPU for the first time ever. Well, i have the AMDX2 4400+ and using the A8R-MVP motherboard.
I found that the CPU at 2.5ghz was stable (did 24h prime95 without any errors). Settings are as follow;
CPUfreq:228
Multiplier: 11
vcore: 1.4V
RAM: limit 183, 2.5-3-3-6 @ 208mhz 2.8V
HTT: 800mhz
My problem is. After every boot where i have turned the computer off (not after a simple reboot).. my cpu freq will do down to 2.04ghz and my memory to something like 168mhz. If i reboot, they get their correct values. The BIOS reads everything correct at all times. Why does this happen?
I dont have any AMD C&Q driver installed (i have the dualcore optimizer installed though). Cool&quiet is also disabled in the BIOS. I also dont have any program that changes these things in windows (i did everything through the BIOS).
I´ve read 2 big guides on overclocking before i tried it myself, but i´ve never read anything about this before.
Also, the "RD 480 HT PLL" setting - its set to "Fast" atm.. is that correct? I have googled for this like crazy but havent found any answer of what it does or should be set at.
Thanks
Edit: whops - this should probably be in the overclocking-subforum instead. So sorry.
