GA-8INXP Giga-byte, and a need to know!

This mobo is running fine on my system, except for when i change the BIOS to run the flexible AGP 8X in auto mode.

This makes it impossible to play any games, which either hang or crash to the desktop. Now if i turn the AGP 8X setting to 4X, no problems, everything runs fine.

I have read about the limitations of AGP 8X for the present, but is there another reason why under auto, the system acts as above?

Just seems odd that the system cannot under auto provide the best whatever for whenever.

I await for your guru comments...

thanks..
