CF Mobo that supports Socket T(LGA775) and DDR2 Ram?
Hi. I recently won the 7th Sapphire X1600xt from the Trade-Up competition (Thanks DH and ATi!) and i'm really happy with it. However, I plan on getting another x1600xt soon to run in crossfire. The problem is that i can't find any CF motherboards that support Socket T(LGA775) and DDR2 Ram. I already have a P4 3.0Ghz w/ HT and 1.5gigs of DDR2 Ram and i don't want to have to buy a new processor and some new ram so i can run 2 1600's in CF (even though i might consider buying DDR ram if i absolutely have to and there's no other choice). It would be best if the board was CF certified, but as long as it can run 2 1600xt's in CF it'll do. I've looked around newegg but i'm having a hard time finding one.
Thanks for all the help.

The 975 chipsets support both.

Thanks for all the help. At first i thought that the board HAD to be CF Certified (it would have the little "ATI Crossfire Certified" logo). But i guess that as long as it has 2 PCI-e x16 slots i can run in crossfire... right? Or maybe i'm wrong. If that's the case then i'm sure that it'll be a lot easier finding a mobo now. Would this mobo work even though it says Nvidia Nforce?:

My friend has a Mobo with an ATi chipset i know that he has a 6800xtx on it, that's why i'm asking if that one will work with 2 1600XTs even though it has nvidia nforce.
And dipstick, that board is WAYYY too pricey for my current budget. And it's not even CF certified (but like i said, i don't think it has to be... does it?). Thanks for the help though.

I'm afraid that motherboard won't work in crossfire, AFAIK no nforce chipsets can run CF..

That sucks. I was really hoping that CF would work on that one. It's the perfect price and supports up to 8Gb of ram and a lot more features. Anyone know of a similar mobo for the same price or around the same price that will run CF? That epox wouldve been perfect!

Unfortunately you are going to need an Intel 975 based board and they are all fairly expensive. Though I would still not grab any 975 and hope it does CF; I only linked the Asus because it says CF Ready on the box(check the pics). I would make sure the board I would purchase said the same on the box at least.
Edit- Meant to say you will need an Intel or ATi Chipset for CF. There's absolutely no chance of CF working on a nVidia chipset just like there's no chance of SLI on ATi chipsets

I think i've found one. It says ATi Crossfire on the box too:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813135004
and just to get it out of the way so i don't get confused later, Crossfire will NOT work on ANY of the nvidia nforce chipsets, right?

i thought ECS made crossfire mobos for intel based on the express 1600 chipset.
Lets see...
how about this...
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813135004
don't know if it supports crossfire though.

The only thing that i'm not sure about this board is this: PCI Express x16 2 x PCI Express x16 slot (Mode: 16x, 4x). Now what does this mean? Does it mean that one card is going to be running in 16x and the other in 4x? I hope not because i want to use the full potential of both cards. And this is a 130$ mobo too i don't see why they can't both run at 16x.
Why does nvidia always have to get the good stuff...

For a $130 mobo with an intel chipset,u should be glad it even has 2 pci-e slots. And i don't think it'll limit the performance by such a great deal, although expect a few drops. But that can't be helped and it's a drawback of the intel 955x chipset.
U could overcome that by overclocking the pci bus speed. But i don't think u'll notice much of a difference.

What about this mobo from ASRock:
ASRock ConRoeXFire-eSATA2
http://www.asrock.com/product/ConRoeXFire-eSATA2.htm
can crossfire actually be ran on this mobo? If so, what about its performance since it has one 16x PCI-E and the other one runs at 4x PCI-E... If i were to crossfire two X1600XTs will this board be okay? Because im thinking of getting this one because its very cheap and feature packed

Can you bank on future crossfire support on an Intel platform? - it looks like things could get pretty frosty betwen AMD-ATI and Intel.
