i have a gateway mx7515 with integrated x600. i noticed ati's mobile drivers do not support gateway laptops, any chance of this changing as gateway does not seem inclined to release driver updates for this model(last release was oct/nov 05)?

We are working diligently on attracting tier1 OEMs to participate in the mobile catalyst program. Once that happens, we will update the validation tool to allow the mobile catalyst drivers to install on those platforms.

In the meantime, please feel free to submit your feedback via the Mobility Driver Feedback form at http://support.ati.com/ics/survey/survey.asp?deptID=894&surveyID=491&type=web

I would like to see Targa as one of the supported notebook suppliers. Their ATi driver for the Mobility Radeon 9600 is way outdated (autumn 2003)...

Same as the others. But with sony laptops. Since the omega drivers work fine with sony laptops, i'm sure the official ones shouldn't be hard to impliment.

I would love to provide feedback if i had drivers that would allow me to install.

I highly recommend introducing the ATI Catalyst validation tools. I have an ATI mobility 9800 for the Dell Inspiron XPS and, like others in this thread, stopped supporting updates a while back. Kudos to DriverHeaven if you guys can help us mobility people out.

Hey, thanks. Hopefully this link will continue to serve up the most recent mobility release b/c it works just fine for the X1400 in my Dell E1705.

I don't know what's involved and how much work it is for manufacturers vs. ATI to be in the program but it was one of the reasons I clicked the ATI radiobutton when configuring this laptop for purchase.

Does Dell send you laptops to validate or do you send drivers to Dell for validation? What I can do to help get Dell to participate in this program? (which is pretty limited to sending angry emails to somewhere in Dell about how they never update any drivers beyond what was available when laptop was introduced).

Any chance of these being pushed onto the main driver download page? I mean, they work perfectly on my Acer 5670, with an X1400, but that worthless "Installation Verification Software" claims that my system won't support them! Riiight.

Anyway, I hate having to come by this thread to find the link when new versions are released; far better to do it on your own site.

The link to download doesn't change: http://ati.amd.com/online/mobilecatalyst/

Just click it and you get whatever the latest mobile catalyst release is at the time.

Have started another thread specific to my issue, but going ahead and discussing it here.
I have a Dell Inspiron 5100 with Mobility Radeon 7500.
The drivers on the Dell site haven't been updated since 2002.
The drivers on the ATI site... well, the Mobility Radeon 7500 is advertised http://ati.amd.com/products/mobility...500/index.html , but no where on the site can I find any actual support for Mobility Radeon 7500. Under drivers for Mobility Radeon, the 7500 isn't even listed.
Crossfire's link to the feedback site, again, Mobility Radeon 7500 isn't listed anywhere on there.
Is Mobility Radeon 7500 supported anywhere?

We do not offer drivers for anything older than Mobility Radeon 9500.

Hi,

I have a Targa Visionary XP-210 with an ATI Radeon Mobility 9600 w. 64MB DDR RAM and I can use the Mobility Drivers provided by ATI.

But my Notebook has a Problem using Shader Modell 2 with Benchmarks and Games.
Wrong colored Pixels are the most upcoming Problem, sometimes followed by a freeze.

The freezes are different, sometimes only the graphics Output freezes but the rest of the System seems to work, sometimes the whole System stops (and the screen is black).

I'm still trying to get an older BIOS version for my Notebook for testing, if the problem could be generated by a wrong setting of the Motherboard.

So level with us then. The last driver available that can support the M9/Radeon Mobility 9000 (assuming the OEM gods give their blessing & vendor id) is the desktop Catalyst 6.5? I must say my next mobile chipset will NOT be an ATI given the hassles not only of modding inf's & ini's, but worse the hassle of understanding what driver can even support a given IGP chipset if one is willing to forgo "offcial support" for that use.

Im chasing drivers that work on mobility x1400, the problem im having with the ones i have tried which were the 6.9 and 7.8 when i play games in window mode if my msn pops up or i put my mouse down to start menu my screen starts like a rolling thing and everything freezes up and if i have been playing a game for awhile i end up with frame lag and have to relog into the game. I have also tried omega drivers as well. I tried getting the ones from the ati website and when i run the verification software it tells me it can not find the hardware.

I am running it in a Dell Inspiron 9400.

Also this problem only started after i had installed and uninstalled vista.

System Specs

mobility x700
Is it possible that the RAM I installed in my laptop affected my graphic goes crazy? I really checked that its matching with mine configuration. In every game there are some lines and little cubes all around the display and even when I start my win xp on its logo there are two little parallel lines on it.
I tried reinstalling the drivers, omega drivers, formatting the system but nothing helped.
Also I put the old memory chip in it to see what will happen and the problem didn`t dissapeared.
I have the felling that I messed it really good. But there is a one good thing in it. Laptop has a warranty the whole this year but I`m afraid that they (service) will gonna find out that I opened it. Is it possible that they `ll find out that I changed the memory? (can I hide my leads anyway? :-)

tnx

Here's some feedback:

I have a Toshiba P200-RT9 with the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 running latest CCC 8.3 from the Toshiba web site (driver 8.471.0.0) connected to a VP2000s 20" 1600x1200 monitor via HDMI->DVI. Hardware spec for external monitor is 2048x1536. Running Vista, unfortunately.

So I call ATI Tech Support (since the driver installation says to register with them) and they say call Toshiba.

Toshiba (Tier 1) says "you can't run a non-wide-screen external display on this wide-screen display laptop. Sorry." Sigh. Why not have no technical support instead of wasting my time? Tier 2 please.

Tier 2 says "you can't run a non-wide-screen external display on this wide-screen display laptop. Sorry." Nothing personal, but I started my tech support career back in 1985 and you don't know much. Tier 3 please.

Tier 3 says "It appears that the HDMI drivers don't support higher resolutions yet. I will report it back to Japan and wait." No ETA.

As this laptop was a replacement for an older unit that Toshiba was unable(!) to repair, I can't send it back.

I will attempt to upgrade to XP, and see if I have any luck with those drivers.

The nvidia card in the previous Toshiba ran this monitor just fine via DVI.
